Eduardo Ecker is a writer and film director from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Having travelled extensively from an early age, he studied and worked in Los Angeles, Vienna, London, and Berlin before settling in New York.

Through a sustained engagement with psychotherapy, deep listening, and analytical philosophy, he is drawn to forms of thought and expression that extend beyond conventional notions of fluency and logocentrism. To this end, his film practice explores a poetics of disfluency, seeking ways of communicating that emerge through difference and otherness. His short films have screened internationally, including at the Goethe-Institut Tokyo, the Brooklyn Film Festival, and the Mar de Plata International Film Festival.

Before turning to film, Eduardo worked as a translator, arts journalist, and creative writing instructor. He holds an MA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and an MFA in Screenwriting & Film Directing from Columbia University, USA. In 2025, his feature-length screenplay “The Unnamed” received an Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Award.
